The Brenau University Vocal Chamber Ensemble will kick off the holiday festivities with a combined concert alongside the Spectrum Singers and the University of North Georgia Brass Quintet, Monday, Nov. 25, at 7:30 p.m. in the Hosch Theatre of the John S. Burd Center for the Performing Arts. The event is free and open to the public.
Under the direction of Brenau Music Professor Bobby Ivey, the VCE will perform A Ceremony of Carols in celebration of English composer, conductor and pianist Benjamin Britten’s centennial year. Spectrum Singers, a choir composed of Brenau students and community members, will premiere Christmas Collage, a new composition by Chuck Bridwell, a nationally known church musician and composer who recently moved to Gainesville and joined Spectrum Singers. Special guest UNG-Gainesville Brass Choir directed by Don Strand, will perform familiar holiday songs.
