Research Director of the Institute of HeartMath, Rollin McCraty, Ph.D., will speak at Brenau East’s Whalen Auditorium on Friday, Nov. 15, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Bring lunch and learn about the phenomenon of heart rate variability and the biofeedback research widely used in hospitals, the military, first responders, business and school systems. Brenau’s Department of Psychology is currently conducting research on this topic thanks to a Brenau University President’s Opportunity Grant award and a United Way grant. Dr. Rollin McCarty has been with the Institute of HeartMath since its inception in 1991. He worked with founder Doc Childre to formulate the organization’s research goals and create its Scientific Advisory Board. McCraty is a fellow at the American Institute of Stress, holds memberships with the International Neurocardiology Network, American Autonomic Society, Pavlovian Society and the Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback.
