Congratulations to last week’s Appalachian Swimming Conference Swimmer of the Week, freshman Talia Sola from Madrid, Spain.

Sola led the way as the Golden Tigers competed at the Birmingham Southern Relay Meet on Oct. 19. She kicked off her leg of the women’s 3×100-yard backstroke relay in a time of 58.02 seconds, breaking Brenau’s previous 100-yard backstroke record of 58.10 set by Michelle Billeaud in December 2011, officially ranking her first in the ASC and unofficially first in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Sola continued to dominate in the backstroke by leading off Brenau’s 1:50.97 victory in the 200-yard medley relay with a split of 27.00.
