Whack-A-Bad-Plant 2013 at Brenau’s Bamboo Forest is on schedule for Friday, Oct. 25, from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. Phi Kappa Phi, the Brenau Sustainability Center and the Honors Program welcome all students, faculty and staff to join them in ridding the bamboo forest of invasive plants.

Volunteers should wear sturdy clothing and shoes. No shorts. A small supply of tools will be available, but bring a favorite weed-destroying tool like clippers or shears if possible.

Plant-whackers will meet at the greenhouse behind the tennis courts. Easiest access may be by car from Prior Street. Opposite the Library parking lot, turn into Perry Street. After passing four houses, turn right and follow the driveway down the hill to the greenhouse.

There were several weed-whacking events last spring and a good time was had by all (except the invasive plants). This can work off a lot of calories! But don’t worry, pizza will be provided.
