The Office of Alumni & Events, the Trustee Library and the Barnes & Noble Campus Bookstore invite you to celebrate National Authors’ Day at the Brenau Alumni Authors’ Showcase, 10 a.m to 3 p.m. at the Brenau Trustee Library on the historic Gainesville campus. The event is a free opportunity for students, faculty, staff and the general public to meet and talk with Brenau alumni authors one-on-one, buy books and get author signatures.
Authors include Lee Anne White, WC ’82, H. Chris Barber, BU ’82, Lynn M. Jones, BU ’04, Shakeera Forrest, BU ’10, Brandy Nagel, WC ’91 and Mary Pat Ward King, WC ’72 (editor) participating in memory of Kitty McKenna Brothers, WC ’72. In 1949 the U.S. Department of Commerce official recognized National Authors’ day with a resolution that states in part: “By celebrating National Authors’ Day as a nation on the first of November each year, we not only show patriotism, loyalty, and appreciation of the men and women who have made American literature possible, but also encourage and inspire others to give of themselves in making a better America.”
