Five songwriters with more than 30 hit songs headline the 12th Annual John Jarrard Foundation concerts Sept. 20-21 while Brenau Galleries sponsors crafts for kids at Art in the Square in Gainesville Sept. 21-22.
The weekend on the square begins with a free concert at 7 p.m. Sept. 20 that features faculty and students from Berklee College of Music, the band Riverstreet and the headliner David Lee Murphy and Band.
Art in the Square runs Saturday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 22, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Brenau Galleries will have multiple tables of arts, crafts and activities for kids all weekend. For more on Art in the Square visit http://www.gainesville.org/art-in-the-square.
Saturday night activities move to Brenau University’s front lawn where singer/songwriters Kent Blazy (“If Tomorrow Never Comes”), Kim Williams (“Three Wooden Crosses”), Doug Johnson (“Love Like Crazy”), Jim Collins (“Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not”) and Bob Morrison (“Looking for Love”) take the stage Sept. 21 on Brenau University’s Front Lawn to honor the late John Jarrard, Gainesville native and Georgia Music Hall of Fame inductee.
