The Historic Holly Theater’s Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, featuring Brenau Research Assistant Drew Ferguson, opens July 19 and runs for three weekends. The musical, brimming with song, dance and acrobatics, is appropriate for PG audiences.
“Oregon in the 1850s is the setting of the stage version of
the popular MGM movie of the same name and The Sobbin’ Women by Stephen Vincent Benet. The show harkens
back to the glory days of the movie musical. Millie, a young bride, tries
to civilize and marry off her six rowdy brothers-in-law, but the plan backfires
when the brothers, in their enthusiasm, kidnap six gals from a neighboring town
to be their brides.“
