The university will be closing sections of Washington and Boulevard Streets on the main Gainesville campus the afternoon of Friday, May 3 and morning of Saturday, May 4 in order to provide a traffic-free environment for graduation exercises on front lawn.
Washington Street will be closed from the intersection of Washington and Boulevard to the intersection of Washington and Prior Street. Prior Street will remain open, as will the entrances to the Owens Center and the Fitness Center. Boulevard will be closed from the intersection of Boulevard and Washington to the intersection of Boulevard and Brenau Avenue. Academy Street will also be blocked at the intersection of Academy and Boulevard.
There will be no on-street parking in these areas so please plan to move your car if you utilize these parking spaces earlier in the day. The barricades will be in place by 1 p.m. on Friday and will be removed following the conclusion of Saturday’s graduation program.
