The afternoon of Wednesday, April 10 will see lots of activity on the front lawn from 12 to 4 p.m.
Sustainability Fair 2013 is the capstone to Brenau’s Sense & Sustainability series, held to celebrate Earth Day. Of the many groups that will be presenting displays and demonstrations, some of the best-known ones include Gateway House Women’s Shelter, Elachee Nature Center, as well as Brenau’s Ecofriends and Students for Environmental Awareness at the University of North Georgia, Habersham Bicycles, Brenau Association of Nursing Students, Brenau Greek Life, and more.
At 4 p.m., Sense & Sustainability presents its end-of-semester show in the SUB (above the Tea Room). “For this one-time event, we’ve assembled a group called the Sustainability Singers,” said Dr. Rudi Kiefer, director of sustainability. “They’ll present a home-made sketch jointly with Ecofriends. The songs may sound familiar but the lyrics are new – and not to be taken too seriously in a few cases.” Music performed by Dr. James Sennett is also on the program, along with a recycling talk presented by Rick Foote of Hall County Waste Management.
