“Footloose for Fitness” Shoe Collection Extended to Friday, Nov. 9

If you still have old shoes to donate, there’s still time! The collection has been extended to Friday, Nov. 9.

Brenau University is partnering with the Northeast Georgia Health System and Georgia’s District 2 Public Health Division to collect 5,280 pairs of shoes this fall for an event called Footloose for Fitness. That’s one pair of shoes for every foot of the Brenau Mile, the community walking route  that circles Brenau’s  campus along Boulevard, Park, Prior and Washington Street.

Footloose For Fitness Shoe DriveThe shoes will be donated to the local Goodwill, the Salvation Army, Gateway House and Potter’s House.

Come out to the Brenau Mile (Prior St. , Boulevard) on Nov. 13 around 11 a.m. just to see thousands of pairs of shoes lining the sidewalks and walk the mile.  If it rains, all shoes will be set inside and the Brenau Mile walk will take place indoors at the East Campus location, Nursing side (convenient parking).
