The exhibition features work from Brenau’s permanent collection produced in the 1930s by American artists such as Rico LeBrun, Childe Hassam, Maurice Sterne and Albert Abramowitz. These artists worked in a special program of the Works Progress Administration that provided livelihood during the Great Depression in exchange for art produced for libraries, schools and other public buildings.
Tonight’s reception is free and open to the public. The exhibition runs through Jan 6.
