The 2012 Ghost Walk – a five-block storytelling tour of Brenau’s neighborhood hosted by the Northeast Georgia History Center in Gainesville – will bring us tales like “What ever happened to Hilbert Tingley?” and “Have you seen the Ladies of the Lake?”. These stories are in addition to perennial favorites like the story of Lucy Adams and legend of Agnes, Brenau’s resident ghost. Rumor has it that tour operators have updated the story of Agnes, so you won’t want to miss this year’s walks.
Tours will start on Friday, October 26, and Saturday, October 27, between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Walks will begin at the Northeast Georgia History Center every 20 minutes. Ghost Walk is not recommended for people with limited mobility and children under 10 years of age are not permitted. (Yes, we are walking and standing for two hours, and, yes, some of the tales are a bit scary.) Reservations are strongly encouraged. Tickets are $8 per person for members of the Northeast Georgia History Center and $10 per person for non-members. Please call 770-297-5900 to get your tickets in advance and secure your spot. All walks sold out in 2009, 2010, and 2011.
