Tigers Pounce on a Week’s Worth of Accolades

Special congratulations are in order for our athletics department after their sweep of awards last week:

  • Four athletes named “Players/Runners/Swimmers-of-the-Week” for their respective sports
    1. Hannah Boudreaux, Swimming:  Swimmer of the Week for the Appalachian Swim Conference
    2. Brittany Aikens, Cross Country: Runner of the Week- Southern states Athletic Conference (3rd time this year!)
    3. Tori Brown, Soccer: Defensive Player of the Week, Southern States Athletic Conference
    4. Esther Anyanwu, Soccer: Offensive Player of the Week, Southern States Athletic Conference
  • Fourteen Fall Sport (Volleyball, Soccer, Cross Country) athletes named to Southern States Athletic Conference All-Academic Teams (9 athletes in 2011)
  • Esther Anyanwu named NAIA National Player-of-the-Week – Soccer
  • Cross Country Receives Votes in NAIA Top 25 Ranking for first time
  • Volleyball Team surpasses last year’s win total and is assured a spot in the post-season SSAC Volleyball Tournament
  • Dominka Jasova, Tennis, took 1st place in her flight in the Duckworth Tennis Classic defeating Deahana Welcher (Lipscomb) 6-4, 6-1
  • Eiline Nagels/Maria Perdomo  took 1st place in their flight in the Duckworth Tennis Classic defeating Nurik/Mulyadi (UT-Chattanooga) 8-3
  • Soccer receives first NAIA Top 25 Ranking-  #18
  •  Brenau University named a 2011-2012 NAIA Champions of Character Five-Star Institution
