McPeek takes the helm at Brenau website, multimedia publishing
Michael McPeek (ude.uanerb@keepcmm) is Director of Multimedia Publishing at Brenau University.

Brenau´s content managers, bloggers and other contributors to the website are meeting the new person working behind the scenes this week and next. Michael McPeek joined the Office of Communications & Publications as the new Director of Multimedia Publishing. His work includes creation and maintenance of websites directed at external audiences, as well as collaboration with the content managers, troubleshooting, publishing the Brenau Update, and more. There is a search in progress for the position of multimedia editor, who will perform a variety of research, writing, photographic, editing, and other activities to support the communications and marketing mission of the university.

Although McPeek is relocating to Gainesville from Indiana, he has local roots. As a University of Georgia graduate (2003) with a degree in Digital Media and Studio Art, he has been a resident of Athens, and currently lives in Gainesville. His wife Meg, a Gainesville native, will be moving here shortly with their 11-month old son, Isaac.

The family is no stranger to Brenau. Meg´s mother, Judy DeLong, is a Brenau WC ´67 alumna and an active participant in the BULLI program. During her studies at Brenau, she was Judith Anderson and a member of Zeta Tau Alpha.

“I´m thrilled to be here, and looking forward to working with everyone,” McPeek said. “Continuing the work of my predecessor, we´ll build an increasingly dynamic and exciting web presence that can address the changing needs of the university.”

Dr. Rudi Kiefer, who has been responsible for the Brenau Website since 2001, returns to the academic side of the university in the fall term as a professor of physical science and director of the Brenau sustainability initiative.
