So you wanted to see the Picasso to Warhol exhibition at the High Museum this term, but didn´t have a chance to go? Brenau`s Department of Art and Design has a solution. The exhibit is going to be shown virtually, and complete with expert commentary, on Tuesday, April 17 at 1:15 p.m. in the Disque Lecture Hall of the John S. Burd Center.
High Museum Modern and Contemporary Art Curator Michael Rooks is moderating this brown-bag lunch event. Rooks will share information about the Picasso to Warhol exhibition as well as future programming at the museum.
A selection of Art and Design students and faculty enjoyed a previous version of his talk at the High last fall. “This will be a very enriching event,” said Mary Beth Looney, chair of the Art Department, “so why not have your lunch away from your desk, and give yourself an art break? And if you´re faculty, offers of extra credit to motivate students are also greatly appreciated.”
It could happen that, like any good presentation, the show leaves you hungry for more. In that case, you can still see the full Picasso to Warhol: Fourteen Modern Masters at the High. This unprecedented exhibition of more than 100 masterpieces from The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York, will be on view until April 29, 2012. For group visits, reservations can be made by contacting ArtAccess@woodruffcenter.org or calling 404-733-4476.
