Stella Parton ´Master Class´ on Sept. 22 will be open to the public

Stella Parton ´Master Class´ on Sept. 22 will be open to the publicSinger, songwriter, actor and author Stella Parton will participate in an open-to-the-public “master class” at Hosch Theatre on the Gainesville campus starting at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22. Parton, whose sister is country music icon Dolly Parton, also will sign copies of her new book, “Tell It Sister, Tell It.” There is no admission charge for the interactive, discussion-format program. Dr. Barbara Steinhaus, chair of Brenau´s Department of Music, and Fred Lloyd, associate professor of theater who has worked in film, television and Broadway productions, will moderate the discussion. Parton, who will be in Gainesville for the John Jarrard Concert performances on the Brenau campus, says proceeds from the sale of the book will benefit programs to combat domestic violence. Copies of the book are available now in the campus bookstore and will also be available for the Sept. 22 appearance and during the Jarrard concert performances.
